Jim Wise

Jim Wise stands at the front of Wise Country, guitar in hand, with a voice that carries years of stories and miles of highway. He grew up in Joplin with a ball glove and a six string, earned a sports scholarship to the University of Iowa, then took the mound as a St. Louis Cardinals pitcher. When an injury closed that door, he opened another on Chicago's Rush Street, playing coffee houses and clubs until his songs landed him a CBS Nashville record deal and several 90's country hits.

Jim won the King Eagle Independent Video of the Year Award in 1993, toured as an opening act for Alan Jackson and Waylon Jennings, and learned how to own a big stage. That same smooth baritone, easy smile, and steady leadership guide every Wise Country show, giving crowds a true Nashville seasoned frontman.
